The Rock is basically the continuation of Ahmad Dhani's previous solo project,
"Ahmad Band". However, The Rock comes in different format. It's first
album(2007) came with wider arrange of music genres (rock, blues, swing, and bosas).
This certainly provides more choices to open-minded music lovers.
In delivering its performances, The Rock may perform in two different formations:
The Rock International (or simplified as The Rock), and The Rock Indonesia (known
also as the "generic" version of The Rock). The members of The Rock
International are Ahmad Dhani as the band leader and three talented young musicians
from Australia, Michael Bennet (drummer), Clancy Alexander Tucker (guitarist)
and Achary Haider Keene (bassist). The debutes of The Rock International were
serially delivered throught 12 cities in Indonesia during Malborro 2007 Tour.
Certainly not having lower quality than The Rock International, besides Ahmad
Dhani, The Rock Indonesia includes four other young talented musicians from
Indonesia, Ikmal (drummer), Taras (guitarist), Mitha (guitarist), and Ices (bassist). |
